Eight years of blogging, and still no signs of stopping! I definitely blogged less this year, but looking back, it was a matter of quality over quantity. I was obsessed with everything I posted! Let’s take a look back at the past year:
My Favourite 5 Posts of the Last Year:
- Sprinkle Loaf with Birthday Cake Crumb Topping – This loaf just made me so happy! It was super cute, tasted amazing and was just hands down my favourite treat of the year!
- Margarita Cupcakes – These cupcakes totally took me by surprise, and were a huge hit with my friends. Not only do they have tequila in the cupcake and the frosting, but you finish them with a sprinkle of lime zest and sea salt for that true margarita flavour.
- Peaches & Cream Pie – I recreated a pie from my pre-blog days (canned peaches no more!) and it was absolutely incredible.
- Frosé (Frozen Rosé) – For someone who rarely makes the same thing twice, it’s obvious this Frosé was an obsession for me. It took the whole summer to get it right, so I’ll be ready as soon as 2018 Balcony Season kicks off!
- Spring Quinoa Salad with Honey Lemon Vinaigrette – I legit still think of this brunch on a regular basis. I loved everything about it: this salad, thick cut bacon, roasted potato hash, fresh berries and oatmeal squares. Must make this again soon.
A few other fun things from this year:
- I went 3 for 3 on my birthday cakes for my nieces and nephew this year: Krabby Patty Cupcakes, Poop Emoji Cupcakes and Unicorn Cake. I loved each of them!
- Smitten Kitchen came to Toronto on her book tour and I got to see her again! Plus there is the most delicious cookie recipe in her new book: Pretzel Linzers with Salted Caramel.
- My niece and I met Yolanda from How to Cake It, our favourite YouTube show! We still haven’t tackled one of her recipes yet, but I hope we can try at some point this year.
- Baked Sunday Mornings finally finished Baked Occasions! There are still a handful of recipes I want to try from that book.
