It’s that time again! Another year of blogging has gone by and it’s time to take a quick look back at the most popular posts of the past year, as well as my favourites!

  4. Lemon Meringue Cookies
  5. Toffee Bar Crunch Pie (aka Skor Bar Dessert)

These posts are virtually unchanged over the last four years so…..maybe I should finally update the photos, especially on those Lemon Meringue Cookies, woof!

Top 5 Most Viewed Posts {from the last year}:

  1. Orange Gingerbread Cake
  2. Ube Cake
  3. Milk & Cookies Shooters
  4. Bread & Butter Pickles
  5. Ultralemony Lemon Bundt Cake with Almond Glaze

My Favourite 5 Posts of the Last Year:

  1. Ube Cake – This was hands down my favourite post of the year. Had so much fun making this cake and sharing it with my friends.
  2. Bread & Butter Pickles – Learning how to can pickles was the best kitchen project of the year.
  3. Peach Dumplings – I waited so long to make these and they were so worth it. Thinking about this post makes me crave summer.
  4. Cherry Chip Cake – Loved recreating this childhood fave. I need to make this again.
  5. Conversation Heart Cakes – I know I just posted these yesterday, but they’re so cute, I love the way they turned out, and they incorporate Beyoncé, so they automatically get into the Top 5.

I’m not really in the goal-setting mood this year, and instead want to adopt more of the current Smitten Kitchen philosophy that Deb posted about a few weeks ago: “Find a recipe that sounds good to you and make it immediately. Don’t put it in the queue; don’t save it on that to-cook-one-day list, just dive in and dig in”. I’d love to have more posts like that, the “Here’s what I’m obsessed with right now” variety, rather than my frequent “I made this thing I pinned three years ago” posts (although I find it so satisfying to delete things from Pinterest that I finally made!).

Looking forward to another year of butter and sugar! We also have some awesome recipes coming up on the Baked Sunday Morning schedule (Drunk Bundt Cake!) so keep an eye out for those!
