Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Updated with a new picture April 4, 2014

As the E! Fashion Police panel would say, I’m so on trend with these cookies right now. In January they popped up on Picky Palate, and have been all over the place since.

These monsters were the third course at my blog-iversary party, and they were a big hit. The thing I liked most about these, besides the size (they’re huge!), is the contrasting textures. When you first bite into the chocolate chip cookie, it’s soft and chewy, then you hit the crunch of the Oreo, and it’s just kind of unexpected and fun.

Also fun: presents! Thanks to Kristine & Nicole for my new apron, and the rest of my peeps for their cards and gifts. Sugar highs for all!

Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Source: Picky Palate

Yield: I got 20 huge cookies out of this, it will depend on how much dough you use for each cookie

Ingredients

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1 tbsp vanilla

3 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

2 cups chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate)

1 bag Oreo cookies

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until well combined. Add eggs and vanilla and blend well.
  3. Add flour, salt and baking soda and mix in until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  4. Using a cookie scoop, place a scoop of cookie dough on the top of an Oreo cookie. Put another scoop on the bottom, and press dough together to seal the Oreo inside. Cookies will be huge, just go with it.
  5. Bake for 13-15 minutes and let cool before eating.
