I’m recapping this one from memory you guys, because my interest in this show has dropped to an all-time low, and I didn’t even take notes while watching. After last week’s trailBLAISing episode, this week was pretty boring. Plus, they already had a challenge to cook lunch for a construction crew…so this was pretty much the same.

The episode starts off with the Quickfire, which is a skills challenge. I missed the first part, but tuned in to see David, Carl, Jonathan and Xavier peeling grapes. Carl and Xavier moved on, and then had to cook a dish with the ingredients from the Quickfire. Carl was the winner!

Mark and Lisa announce the Elimination Challenge which was to cook a buffet style lunch for the cast and crew of Lost Girl. I know nothing about this show, except that the main actress played Cassidy on Being Erica, which is absolutely amazing, and I need to rewatch the whole thing.

So…ummm…I may have been asleep at this point, but I woke up to the cheftestants getting their buffet set up. This is what I remember:

Jimmy – some kind of vegan soup and a salad. The judges hated it, there was too much truffle oil in the soup, and the salad wasn’t up to Top Chef standards.

Trista – underseasoned seafood salad, and a panna cotta made with yogurt. The judges thought it was okay.

Xavier – flavourless chocolate mousse…how is that even possible.

David – grilled polenta…

ummm

*crickets*

I got nothing.

I’ll rewatch this on the weekend and fill in the blanks! For now…

The winner: Johnathan!

Going home: Jimmy

Next week: Camping (boo!) & Roger Mooking (hiss!)
