Over on this page, my west-coast BFF Danielle and I have been busy baking our way through the Joy the Baker cookbook! We just hit our 25th recipe (out of 100) so we thought it was time for a little quarterly report.
Recipes Baked
Total – 25 (Danielle – 14 / Robyn – 11)
*This took from March 5 – May 16th, about two and a half months
Baked from our Top 10s

*click over to our JtB Cookbook Project page to see what they were; we’re updating our Top 10s for Q2
Favourite So Far
Danielle – Banana Coconut Cream Pie – here she is to tell you about her fave:
By far, the best thing I have made from the book and I am very particular about my banana cream pies! Unlike Robyn, banana cream pie is one of my favorite desserts of all time and something I don’t make nearly enough.  This had to change, so I made it one night and ate half the pie over the next day or two! The perfect combination of banana and coconut and the banana flavour was even more intense the next day. I have already made this a second time for a friend and intend on making it again in the coming months! Bananas are always in season and always available so there really is no excuse not to make this and eat the entire thing on a warm summer night!
Robyn – Honey Whole Wheat Pound Cake
From Q1, this was hands down my favourite. Danielle was surprised, but this is something I would make again and again. It’s easy to pull together, made with ingredients I usually already have around, and freezes really well. I split mine into two loaf pans, and brought one to my parents and one to work, and everyone loved it. It’s soft and has a subtle sweetness from the honey, so nice to eat with tea, or even with a little PB&J on top.
Most Anticipated Recipe for the Next Quarter
Danielle – Dark Chocolate Ganache Tart with Fresh Berries and Sweetened Cream
Robyn – Peach Cobbler Muffins with fresh Ontario peaches!
If you’ve made anything from Joy’s book, let us know your favourite in the comments!

I’ve made Peach Cobbler Muffins, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies and Man Bait Apple Crisp. They were all delicious and well received! :) I am looking forward to making more things from it!

Those look incredible! Particularly the pie! I think it’s cool you’re cooking your way through such an outrageously good cookbook 😀
